Last year saw MOTOR tour extensively around the US with Nitzer Ebb as well as their own domination of clubs, gigs and festivals across Europe and Japan. If anything the MOTOR live show is now a finely tuned barrage of stage energy, spit in your face noise and assured self belief as the band have matured into a well oiled troup of techno blazing and rock posturing sonic deviants. Their new material has taken this mutant disco hybrid and coerced it into a sleeker and more mature sound that smoothes the edges yet retains the attitude of their previous clubland destroying singles.

With the Motor crew about to head off for Japan for the third time in 12 months on an arena venue tour ‘Flashback’ is a timely reminder of their dancefloor power. T. Raumschmiere’s mix twists the original on its head with a stuttered break underpinning a chaotic synth riff spinning out of the stratosphere. Then Franz & Shape deliver a right hook to the 303 plexus as the drip ’20 Volts of Steel’ into an acid blood bath of techno deviance.
